The BalatonBike365 project contributes to the development of active tourism in Lake Balaton, which includes the creation of bicycle stops with EU funding. One of these is the Balatonfüred Bike Centre, which offers a wide range of services for cycling enthusiasts. In the 2014-2020 programming period, thanks to the Economic Development and Innovation Operational Programme (EDIOP), seven more projects similar to the BalatonBike365 were implemented that grow domestic tourism.
The centre offers traditional and electric bicycles for rent, but cyclists can also have their bicycle serviced, buy small accessories or relax in the bike café. The experts also provide information on routes, bicycle transport, insurance and emergency services to make cycling trips safe and comfortable.
In addition to the Balatonfüred centre, high quality bicycle service centres have been built in Balatonföldvár and Keszthely in the framework of this project. In addition, signposted cycle paths with rest areas have been created. The BB365 mobile app and the Balatonbike365 website provide downloadable routes for cyclists. The application developed in the project has already been downloaded by more than 20,000 cyclists from Hungary and abroad.
